Here are my predictions for the winners of the 86th Academy Awards (Oscars 2014).

 

Best Picture: 12 Years a Slave

Best Directing: 12 Years a Slave (Steve McQueen)

Best Actor in a Leading Role: Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club)

Best Actress in a Leading Role: Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine)

Best Actor in a Supporting role: Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club)

Best Actress in a Supporting Role: Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years a Slave)

Best Writing Original Screenplay: American Hustle (Eric Warren Singer and David O. Russell)

Best Writing Adapted Screenplay: 12 Years a Slave (John Ridley)

Best Cinematography: Gravity (Emmanuel Libezki)

Best Film Editing: Gravity (Alfonso Cuarón and Mark Sanger)

Best Foreign Language Film: The Great Beauty (Italy)

Best Music: Ordinary Love

Best Animated Picture Film: The Wind Rises (Hayao Miyazaki and Toshio Suzuki)

Best Production Design: American Hustle

Best Makeup and Hairstyling: Dallas Buyers Club (Adruitha Lee and Robin Mathews)

Best Costume Design: American Hustle

Best Visual Effects: Gravity
